Meet the Writers
Polyptych began in August 2022 as a simple blog, but has since grown into a self-made community of writers who love bringing you frequent art news & reviews, philosophical conversations, cultural perspectives, architecture insight, book reviews, plus so much more!

Kate is the Creative Director and Founder of Polyptych.
Kate Lacivita is an emerging art history scholar and museum professional from Savannah, Georgia. Mrs. Lacivita received her Bachelor of Art in art history from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2018, and her Master of Art in art history from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2025 with her thesis titled Benvenuto Cellini: Crucifixion and Performance in Sixteenth Century Italy. While in her graduate program, she attended the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Art’s 2024 Summer Institute in Winston-Salem, NC and published her first book review on Suzanne M. Scanlan’s book titled Esther Pressoir: A Modern Woman’s Painter for Lund Humphries Publishing. She is currently curating the show “Esther Mahlangu and the Legacy of Traditional Ndebele Beadwork” at the Savannah African Art Museum, located in Savannah, GA. Since 2022, Mrs. Lacivita writes for and manages her own interdisciplinary art blog titled Polyptych Magazine.
She focuses on religious iconography of the 16th Century Italian Renaissance, but has interests and knowledge of Modern & Contemporary art. She is also an advocate for community engagement and accessibility of art to local communities through museum & curatorial initiatives.
Fun Fact: I spend my free time traveling, hiking & visiting museums!

Darby is a writer & editor.
She graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation and Community Planning. Born and raised in South Carolina, Darby developed a love for historic buildings and how they shape landscapes from a young age. She is passionate about equity within historic preservation, and is a firm believer that it’s not the social elites, but every day Americans whose stories make our buildings and heritage worth saving.
Fun fact: Darby is an avid cook! Most evenings, you can find her whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen or trying one of Savannah’s many delicious restaurants.

Miles is a writer and editor
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelors in English. Miles currently works as a high school English teacher for Guildford County Schools in North Carolina. He has a deep passion for literature and the knowledge we can gain about ourselves and the world from reading.
Fun fact: loves psychology and listening to true crime.

Anthony is a writer and editor.
He has his Masters of Music Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in trumpet performance from Gardner Webb University. He performs in a classical brass quintet (River Street Brass Quintet), freelances throughout the state of GA, and teaches private lessons.
Anthony has a deep interest in theology and philosophy and continues this passion through personal studies of classical to modern literature.
